These days, it takes a while to get us out the door… take how much time it took us to get out the door pre-kids, and multiply by 10. For example, as I’ve mentioned a few times, getting to church before it ends, takes hours of preparation on Saturday. We lay out all the kids clothes, shoes, Sunday school gear, and easy breakfast the night before… and get up at or before 7am… so how come we can’t get there for 9:30am??
Well, if you can hardly get out the door for church, you might as well find Godly things at home… maybe just at your back door! And finding fun at home is priceless.
We found a may-fly in our backyard door frame. The kids watched the fly walk around and fly around a bit for a good 20 minutes. They were so jazzed. And I think this totally qualifies as a homeschool lesson.
If I wasn’t afraid of you falling asleep at your computer, I would post the 600 pictures of the kids squealing and laughing.
Anything surprising bring joy to the little people in your life?
Aw ww, how cute! I absolutely love how such seemingly insignificant things can bring joy to little ones. For my son, it makes his day to see the garbage truck. And it’s so true about the time it gets to get out of the house with kids!

Lol! The garbage truck is a huge highlight around here too. Once, the garbage truck broke down at the end of our driveway. The kids brought the sanitation guys juice and cookies, and you’d have thought they met Santa!
